Homeopathy for Sinus Symptoms

Nasal congestion, facial pressure and sinus discomfort are common, particularly during colds and seasonal illnesses. Many people choose homeopathy as part of their broader approach to managing these symptoms. Within homeopathy, remedies are traditionally selected according to the individual's symptom picture rather than a diagnosis.

Below are some of the homeopathic remedies commonly used within homeopathic practice for sinus-related symptoms. If none of these remedies seems to match your symptom picture, or your symptoms are persistent or recurring, an acute consultation may help determine a more individualised prescription.

Lycopodium: Traditionally used within homeopathy where there is nasal congestion, post-nasal drip and thick nasal discharge.

Sanguinaria: Commonly selected within homeopathy where facial discomfort or headache is more noticeable on the right-hand side. Nasal discharge may be minimal.

Spigellia: Traditionally used within homeopathy where facial discomfort or headache is more noticeable on the left-hand side or around the eye.

Pulsatilla: Commonly used within homeopathy where nasal discharge becomes thick and green. Symptoms may feel worse in a warm, stuffy room and more comfortable in fresh air.

Hepar Sulph: Traditionally selected within homeopathy where there is facial tenderness together with throat discomfort or mucus causing frequent throat clearing. Some people describe feeling more comfortable in warm, humid air.

Antimonium Crudum: Commonly used within homeopathy where the nostrils feel dry and there is a sensation of heaviness or pressure across the cheeks.

Kali Bichromium: Traditionally used within homeopathy where nasal discharge is thick, sticky or stringy, with pressure around the bridge of the nose or forehead.

Glonoine: Traditionally used within homeopathy where there is a sensation of fullness, pressure or throbbing in the head.

Hydrastis: Commonly selected within homeopathy where there is thick, tenacious yellow nasal discharge.

Belladonna: Traditionally used within homeopathy where facial discomfort is accompanied by throbbing or pulsating sensations.
