FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

How does Homeopathy Work?

Homeopathic medicines are traditionally used to stimulate healing by the principle of 'like treats like'. Our goal is to address the root cause of illness, not just mask symptoms. When an illness has developed over a long period, gentle and natural healing can also take time, be patient and trust the process.

How will I know if my remedy is working?

Look for subtle, gentle and gradual improvements in both symptoms and overall wellbeing.

Are there side effects?

Not in the same way that pharmaceuticals can cause side effects. However, very occasionally when the right remedy is given, there may be an initial ‘aggravation’ of current symptoms - getting temporarily worse then quickly followed by a big improvement. Occasionally there can also be return of old symptoms (ROS) - a symptom that you have had sometime previously in your life that wasn't healed properly or was suppressed by pharmaceuticals and may be contributing to chronic illness.  An ROS it usually means that your remedy has stimulated healing, bringing it back to the surface so that it can heal properly this time.

What should I do in an aggravation or ROS?

Pause taking your remedy until the symptoms have passed, and get in touch via email so we can support you. Do not suppress the symptoms with creams / pharmaceuticals / antibiotics etc wherever possible.   Your body has brought these symptoms to the surface to heal them , which it will often do quickly and naturally with the right homeopathic support, and by interfering you may drive the symptom deeper again.

When should I get in touch between appointments?

If you ever have any urgent questions that can’t wait until your follow up appointment, please get in touch via email.

FOLLOW UP APPOINTMENTS:

Follow up appointments are an important part of treatment and can be booked online, A standard follow up appointment is strictly 30 mins. If you feel that you need longer than 30 minutes, please book a 45 min extended follow up appointment. Any remedies can be purchased during or after the follow up consultation.  Clients often find that the longer they leave their follow up, the longer the appointment ends up being, so it can be cost-effective to make sure you book and attend your follow up promptly.  If treatment is going so well that you don’t need a follow up, I will be very happy to postpone your appointment, but please give me at least 1-2 weeks notice.
